Hi guys
Can i make suggestion, i see the server empty during the day time and wondered if adding a couple of bots? im sure this will bring traffice to the server, i have joined the server but then leave as there is no one to play with :(. i have noticed as soon as a couple of players are on, the server gets busy. was just a suggestion 🙂 Headshot laters!!Mrs A
Speaking from experience, usually if bots are added, it’s a death sentence to a server. It may draw a couple of players at first, but once people realize there are bots, they don’t bother connecting if there are only a couple of people connected. I would steer clear of doing that, personally.
Exactly what Sw2b said… bots are pure toxic for a server.
As soon as people see bots in a server they will always assume that it’s bots playing even if there’s real people on and we will soon be categorised with the other 95% of servers which run bots.
I think one of the good things about L!VE is that if you see players in the server list you know 100% they are real people.
I get it’s frustrating that the server is only busy for a few hours each night and empty inbetween but there’s no one on.
I guess the only way to combat that is stay in spec for longer and see if anyone else joins.
We do have plans to combat this in the near future, I have over 4000 email addresses from players registered on sof2.org who I intend to email soon advertising L!VE.
The only solution I can think of is to increase the number of regular players we have (which is going up as time goes on) and this will fill in the times when the server is not as busy / empty.
Well it’s like this. Most the people in sof2 are of a older age bracket. Who have lives kids jobs ECT… I can time when certain people will come on in the afternoons cause they basically get home from work. Lol but… I’m those couple few hours we kick ass on every other server 👍 weooo
i agree bots can kill a server.
Maybe try find a daytime community, scout through servers with the odd player on where there is bots invite them to the Live server/forum
Once they have had a taste of the maps i’m sure that they will come back.
