fx_nearCull is a Soldier of Fortune 2 console variable (CVAR) in the Effects group. Culls (skips rendering) particle effects that are very close to the camera. Its default value is "0".

How to change it
Open the console with ~ and type the command:
seta fx_nearCull "1"
To keep the setting, put the same line (starting with seta) in your config file, such as sof2mp.cfg in the game's base folder.
