This Cookie Policy explains how SOF2MP.COM (the “Site”) uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let the site remember things between pages or visits, such as the fact that you are signed in. “Similar technologies” include browser storage and the information your browser sends automatically when it loads images or fonts from another website.
2. The short version
- We only use cookies that are strictly necessary for the Site to work and stay secure.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, social media or tracking cookies, and we do not build advertising profiles.
- If you just browse without signing in, the only cookies you are likely to receive are Cloudflare’s security cookies.
Under UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations), strictly necessary cookies do not need your consent, which is why the Site does not show a cookie banner.
3. Cookies we use
3.1 Signing in (WordPress)
These are only set if you sign in, or try to.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
wordpress_test_cookie |
Checks that your browser accepts cookies so that sign-in can work. | Until you close your browser |
wordpress_[code] and wordpress_sec_[code] |
Keep you signed in securely and protect your account. | Until you close your browser, or 14 days if you tick “Remember me” |
wordpress_logged_in_[code] |
Tells the Site who you are while you are signed in, so it can show My SoF2 and your account features. | Until you close your browser, or 14 days if you tick “Remember me” |
wp-settings-[id] and wp-settings-time-[id] |
Remember your display preferences in the account dashboard, if you use it. | 1 year |
Signing out removes the sign-in cookies.
3.2 Security and performance (Cloudflare)
The Site is protected by Cloudflare, which may set these cookies to tell real visitors apart from bots and attacks. They do not track you across other websites.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
__cf_bm |
Bot management: helps identify automated traffic. | 30 minutes |
_cfuvid |
Applies rate limits fairly to visitors who share an IP address. | Until you close your browser |
cf_clearance |
Remembers that you passed a security check, so you are not asked again straight away. | Usually 30 minutes to a few hours |
More information: Cloudflare’s cookie information.
4. Content loaded from other websites
Some parts of the Site are loaded by your browser directly from other services. They do not set cookies through our pages, but, as with any web request, they receive your IP address and basic browser information:
- Google Fonts (Google LLC): the fonts used on the Site. Google Privacy Policy.
- 1fxmod.org: the country flags shown next to game servers.
- WordPress.org (s.w.org): emoji images, in browsers that cannot display emoji themselves.
Links to other websites, such as Discord, clan sites or server sites, take you to services with their own cookie policies.
5. Browser storage
The Site’s own scripts do not store tracking information in your browser. Downloads and copy-to-clipboard features work without cookies.
6. Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, blocking them will stop you signing in, and may cause Cloudflare to show you extra security checks, but you will still be able to browse the public pages. Help for common browsers:

7. Changes
If we start using any cookie that is not strictly necessary, for example analytics, we will update this page first and ask for your consent before setting it.
