How to install Gold mods
- Open your SoF2 folder: the one with
SoF2MP.exeand thebasefolder in it. - Extract the mod’s zip into that folder. Each mod has its own folder, which must sit next to
base, not inside it. - Don’t move or rename the mod’s folder. Its name has to match what servers expect.
- That’s it. When you join a server running the mod, the game loads it for you. To start straight into a mod, add
+set fs_game rocmodto the end of your game shortcut’s Target, using that mod’s folder name.

For the original 2002 release. Mods are made for one version, so Gold (v1.03) mods won’t work here, and the other way round.

How to install v1.00 mods
- Make sure you’re running v1.00 with the 1fx. patch for v1.00 (see step 2 of the guide).
- Open your SoF2 folder: the one with
SoF2MP.exeand thebasefolder in it. - Extract the mod’s zip into that folder, so the mod’s own folder sits next to
base, not inside it. - Join a server running the mod and the game loads it for you. Or add
+set fs_gameplus the mod’s folder name to your shortcut’s Target to start straight into it.

Got Gold and v1.00 installed? Keep them in separate folders. Each version needs its own copy of the game, its own patch and its own mods.
