Open the Soldier of Fortune II console with the ~ key (on UK keyboards, the ` key under Esc). Type a command, such as /connect 66.135.18.166:20100 or /name YourName, and press Enter. Settings are changed the same way, and /bind puts any command on a key.
Opening the console
Press ~ to open and close it. If nothing happens on a non-US keyboard, try the key to the left of 1. You can scroll back with Page Up, and press Tab after typing the start of a command or setting to complete it or list matches.

Changing settings
Settings (CVARs) are changed by typing the name and a value, like /cg_fov 90. Type the name alone to see its current value. Every SoF2 setting is listed with its default and a recommended value in the CVAR database, and the most useful are in best settings.
Key binds
A bind puts a command on a key: /bind key "command".

Write your binds and settings into a text file named autoexec.cfg in the base folder, one per line, and the game runs it at start-up. To load another file by hand, use /exec filename.cfg. Example settings are in best SoF2 settings.
