The SoF2 in-game server list is empty because the game asks the official master server for the list, and that server was switched off years ago. Install the free 1fx. client patch and start the game with SoF2MP.1fxmaster.exe: it asks the 1fx. community master server instead, and the list fills up. You can also join any server directly with /connect and its address.
How the server list works
Every SoF2 server announces itself to a master server, a central list. When you open the in-game browser, the game downloads that list and then asks each server for its name, map and players. If the master server the game knows about doesn’t answer, the browser stays empty, even though plenty of servers are online.
Get the list back
- Install the 1fx. client patch for your version. Links are on the Play page.
- Start the game with
SoF2MP.1fxmaster.exe, not the originalSoF2MP.exe. - Open Multiplayer and set the source to Internet, then refresh.
- Turn on “show empty” and “show full” if you want to see every server, not just ones with space and people.
Still empty?
- Wrong program: check the shortcut you use points to
SoF2MP.1fxmaster.exe. - Firewall: Windows Firewall or your antivirus may be blocking the game. Allow
SoF2MP.1fxmaster.exethrough it for private and public networks. - Filters: the browser may be filtering by game type or hiding full and empty servers. Reset the filters.
- Version: a v1.00 game only shows v1.00 servers. Most servers run v1.03. See versions explained.
Join without the server list
You never actually need the browser. Open the console with ~ and type:
/connect 66.135.18.166:20100Replace the address with the server you want. Every server on SOF2MP.com’s live server list has a copy button for its connect command, and shows how many real people (not bots) are on it right now.

Save servers as favourites
Add the servers you play on to your favourites in the browser. The game then asks those servers directly, so they still show even if a master server is having problems.

Why are there no servers in SoF2?
The official master server is offline. The 1fx. patch points the game at a community master server, which brings the list back.
Are SoF2 servers still online?
Yes. Right now 64 public servers are online. See the live server list.
Can I add a master server myself?
Server owners can set extra master servers with the sv_master2 to sv_master5 settings. Players get the community master from the 1fx. patch.
